There are 2 options for tuition for normally scheduled classes:

  • Register for the full Summer Session and attend as many classes as you like (17 classes every week if you like!) – $125 (does not include special event Sundays). You will automatically be enrolled as a member of the International Yang Family Taijiquan Association.
  • Drop in to classes (some require previous experience) for $10/hour, plus one-time registration fee of $25./summer. Individual memberships in the International Yang Family Taijiquan Association are encouraged but not required and cost $30/year.

Special Event Sundays – $25/event.

Private Sessions – By Appointment – $30 per half hour, $50 per hour.

Traditional Yang Family Taijiquan Long Form Weekend

Our Last Workshop was well attended and this was the format:

Join us for this weekend of immersion in the Traditional Yang Family long form of Taijiquan. You’ll be able to:

Advance your individual Taijiquan skill level.
Refine your alignment.
Understand the postures’ possible martial applications to enhance the clarity of your body alignment and energy focus.
Understand the biomechanics of the movements.
Expand the distinctions of weight-shift, energies of the palms and feet, opening/closing of the kua.
Have an opportunity for a video analysis of your form.
Expand your understanding and application of the 10 principles of Taijiquan to your individual practice.

Schedule:

Saturday we’ll study and play the first 51 movements and enjoy a few refreshing intermissions of Qigong and demonstrations of Taiji sword form and push hands. An extended lunch from 12:30 to 2:00 will allow time for rest, food and practice.
Sunday we’ll continue with the 52 movements of the second half of the long form. We’ll be exploring applications and two person play in half hour sessions in the morning and afternoon. Lunch from 12:30 to 2:00.

Traditional Yang Style Taijiquan long form books by Yang, Zhen-duo were available for purchase (now out of print).
